Unity: A Minimalist Fashion Ring

An Abstract Composition Inspired by De Stijl Movement

The Unity ring is a long-finger fashion ring that stands out for its unique full-face shape. Made of 18k yellow gold, this ring weighs 7.95 g and measures 20.80 x 18.76 mm. Its elongated design makes it a statement piece that adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any outfit.

What sets the Unity ring apart is its use of rectangles and cylinders to create a rhythmic pattern and convey a sense of movement. Multiple rectangles of different sizes are repeated and aligned together, some hollow and some filled, forming a visually captivating composition. The Unity ring was brought to life using advanced technology. The initial 3D model was created in the 3D Matrix program and then printed using a Projet wax 3D printer. A prototype was printed in wax, allowing the designer to check the size and visual aspects before proceeding. A plaster mold was then created, and the final ring was cast, resulting in a beautifully crafted piece of jewelry.

Designed in December 2019 in Tehran, Iran, the Unity ring showcases the designer's dedication to simplicity and minimalism. By drawing inspiration from the De Stijl movement, which focused on reducing art to its purest components, Alireza Merati has created a design that embodies the essence of abstract art and neoplasticism.

The Unity ring has received recognition for its outstanding design. In 2023, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category. This prestigious award honors designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical excellence, contributing to the improvement of quality of life.
